Darren McStay (b. 1977), hailing from London, UK, is an artist & filmmaker. He currently resides in Helsinki, Finland, where he runs polymath house productions.

McStay initially trained in Graphic design and Fine art before apprenticing as a tattoo artist. He had always been passionate about Film, but it wasn't until some time later that he would follow a more creative "hands-on" role both in front of and behind the camera.

His work explores themes of identity, class, and self-perception, inviting viewers to engage with the art on a personal level.

“I love mixing styles and mediums and am a huge fan of attacking the canvas with bright, explosive, dynamic marks. Then, once I feel a sense of vibrancy and emotion toward a piece, another part of my brain will kick into gear. I can spend hours, days, and weeks even refining and weaving in the necessary complementary finishing touches.”
